Camp Spirit
Welcome to Camp Spirit.
We make every effort to provide a safe, fun place for your child while at camp. Please make sure that your child signs in at the computer in the main office upon each day. All children requesting one will be issued a cubby daily at camp. Extra clothing, sunscreen and valuables can be kept in these cubbies. Cubbies must be cleaned out at the end of each day. We discourage campers from bringing Game Boys, magic cards, large amounts of money and other valuables to camp. If they do bring any valuables, they should be stored in his/her cubby when not in use. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.
We ask that children wear appropriate clothing for camp. We will sit on the ground, play with wet sand, go fishing and be out in the sun a good part of the day. Play clothes are the order of the day. Also for older campers, no short-shorts, low riding shorts or jeans or cut off shirts, boxers showing over the top of pants or suggestive saying on t-shirts. In fact we expect campers to wear their camp shirts whenever possible and they are a must if your child will go on field trips. Extra shirts are available for purchase at a reasonable price. Also for younger campers that experience toileting accidents on occasion, we request that you send an extra set of clothes to be kept in their backpack.
Weather is always a concern with camp being situated outdoors. We have several shelters for the children to go to in case of rain. If we experience a thunderstorm we have two building on the camp grounds for protection. We can also shuttle children to the Franklin Street clubhouse if needed.
Please include a water bottle on your shopping list for camp. We will keep water in the office area to refill bottles for your child. Also, make sure their bottle, as well as all other personal belongings coming to camp are labeled with their name.
Please make sure all paperwork is completed and turned into the office. Campers with incomplete paperwork will not be allowed to attend until such time that the office staff is satisfied that your child’s file is up to date.
Finally, all campers must sign out at the end of their day before leaving the camp grounds.
If you have questions or concerns about anything above or have any questions about camp feel free to call or stop in to see us. We’ll be happy to help.
